Environmental Quality

Graphic
Pay heed my children. Human kind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.

Clean Water
  • The health of Hillsborough Bay is important to Davis Islanders. It is the water that surrounds us and defines us as islands. The water is clean and people can swim in it safely. Manatees are occasionally sited and they are protected. Water access points are kept clean of litter and run-off into the bay is minimized. Drainage is filtered and sedimentation is cleaned from the canals regularly.
  • Davis Islanders walk and bike more frequently than residents of most neighborhoods. The reduced use of the automobile contributes to our environmental quality.
