Davis Islands Neighborhood Planning Task ForceWorking Meeting Minutes Present: Lee Medart, Dennis Cavanaugh, Lisa DeVitto, Gary Brown, Charner Reese Sheila Spicola, Jeffrey Siewert Pam Tayon, Shirley Mora Planning Commission Advisor: Rose Petrucha Absent: Renae Tvedt, Andy Hayes, and Ruth Hughes (Excused) and Lorraine Smith, Gerry Smelt, Phyllis Pacyna, and Renee Meehan (Unexcused) Meeting was called to order at 6:36 pm. Quorum noted. There were no objections to May 3rd, 2004 minutes. Minutes were approved The Chair asked for a report from the work groups. The Chair asked that the group chairs get as much professional input into their data as possible. Gary Brown, Chair of Commercial/Mixed-use Group, reported that they had been meeting weekly. It appears that
in looking at a historical map created by D.P. Davis, that mixed-use was planned from E. Davis Blvd. East to
the Channel. He indicated that his group was talking about ways to keep the commercial district viable. New BusinessDICA has asked the Task Force to become a committee of DICA. The Task Force was authorized by the City Council as an autonomous body representing all stakeholders it precludes us from being their committee. However, we embrace a DICA partnership in joining us in the PLAN process. A motion was made and seconded that a letter to that effect be sent to DICA and it was unanimously approved. Charner announced that the City of Tampa was planning for future sidewalk improvements. |
