Planning Commission Advisor: Rose Petrucha Absent: Renee Meehan, Gary Brown, Phyllis Pacyna, Charner Reese, Renae Tvedt (all excused) Call to OrderMeeting was called to order at 6:34 pm. Quorum was noted. 1 Minutes for August 25, 2003 were approved with changes from Lorraine. 2 Meeting with the Mayor - The Chair reported that the meeting had been set up for September 11th at 2 pm. The Chair indicated that she was going to the Mayor’s meeting unless anyone had objections. There were none. 3 Waterfront Property Association - No report except for the objectives and goals. 4 Grant – Lorraine reported that the grant administration is 3-4 weeks behind in their process. 5 Adalia Group - No Report 6 The Chair reported that Hudson Manor was closing because of financial difficulties. There was some discussion of options of what to use the building for since Hamilton Jones is interested in using it in some way. 7 The Chair also reported the Mr. Morris that owns the property from Fig Leaf through to the Hardware Store had passed away; presently, his son in Hyde Park is managing the property. Unfinished BusinessThe Chair asked if two people would be the “recorders” for the evening. Jeffrey and Shelia volunteered. The Interviews were planned for discussion. Rose brought all the interviews printed out. There were comments from a number of the participants. We pulled out of the interviews what we felt were “values” not expressed previously. · More Dockage New Business· The Chair brought up that the Meeting for the Open House that we had agreed on previously, October 23rd is before the end of Daylight Savings Time ends which is the next Sunday in October and we need to address it. Rose Petrucha brought up at that the Planning Commission had several large meetings coming up and wanted to talk about changing that date to possibly be November 13th. It was decided that we would find out when DICA was having their meeting to determine the date of the open House. · The Chair asked if anybody objected to her hiring a painter to do the “Sandwich Signs” for the Open House. They felt that it was too expensive and Jeffrey offered to look into his office doing the signs. · There was discussion as to next meeting if we can begin to work on the “Vision” and the answer was yes but we would take some time to go through the Study Circle results to see if we had missed anything. It was decided that we’d spent a small amount of time on the Study Circles results at the next meeting and begin on creating the “Vision”.
